Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is the process by which adults are fully initiated into the Catholic faith community. It is intended for anyone over the age of seven who is unbaptized, a baptized Christian from another denomination or baptized Catholic but has not yet received the sacraments of Communion or Confirmation. The final rites and conferring of the sacraments are celebrated at the Easter Vigil.
Program Details
OCIA classes begin in September and culminate in the Easter Season following the Easter Vigil. We meet on Wednesday nights at 7pm and have a dedicated team of teachers, all whom are parishioners of San Antonio and some have completed the OCIA program in recent years. Please fill out and submit the form below if you are thinking of joining this year’s class and want more information or share with someone who has this call on his or her heart.
Interested in Volunteering?
If you are interested in joining the OCIA Team and want more details, please fill out and submit the Volunteer Form below. We are always looking for fresh perspectives, eagerness, and a willingness to be involved in any capacity.
With only a few months left in this liturgical year, we are not accepting new adult confirmation requests.
We will resume adult confirmation in the new liturgical year.
